Restorative Procedures

What Is Restorative Dentistry?

There is a long list of restorative procedures available to dental patients for the repair of damaged teeth or the replacement of missing teeth.

There are inlays, onlays, crowns, root canals, fillings, bridges, implants, partial or full dentures.

Dentists use on your teeth gold, porcelain, resin, and other types of new materials that are being developed all the time.

Each of these procedures is used or recommended for cases that meet specific criteria.

When you become a patient of Hillcrest Family Dental, we will work with you to find the best solution for your mouth. Some types of dental insurance cover some procedures more than others. We will go over with you all your options for treatment, so you can decide what solution works best for you.

What’s important here is that you keep your teeth where they belong—in your mouth.

On our Wisdom Teeth Extraction page, we mentioned that the Great White Shark has about 300 teeth.

The Great White Shark has another fantastic adaptation. This shark grows new teeth throughout its lifetime. So, if the shark damages or breaks or loses a tooth, another one grows in to take its place.

Humans are not so lucky. We only have one set of baby teeth and one set of adult or permanent teeth. If we damage or lose a tooth, we’re not going to grow any new ones. That’s why it’s so important to take care of the teeth we have: we need them to last.
